XT250
Next in line to the throne.
A brand new look for a famous old name. When it comes to good honest
on/off road capability and good times that last …and last, you can’t
beat a Yamaha XT250. The new evolution of Yamaha’s cult classic has
been completely updated to reach the highest level ever for this
category – all without compromising the simple, rock-solid
dependability for which Yamaha XTs are famous.
The
new, larger capacity 249cc engine is stronger and more responsive, and
comes mounted to an all new chassis with a whole new level or braking,
handling and suspension performance.
Fuel-efficient all-road expertise doesn’t get more useable nor affordable than this.
Meet the new category king.
- All
new 249cc air-cooled, SOHC, 2-valve, 4-stroke engine has a new bore x
stroke of 74.0 x 58.0 mm, and a compression ratio of 9.5:1. Engine is
tuned to be outstandingly easy to use, even at walking speed, with
excellent drivability in the mid- to high-speed ranges.
- Producing
maximum power at 7500rpm and maximum torque at 6500 rpm, the new engine
is characterised by sharp throttle response and smooth torque across
the entire rpm range.
- Lightweight forged piston and plated
cylinder contribute to engine responsiveness across the rpm range and
excellent heat-dissipation characteristics.
- New 33mm vacuum
carburettor enables smooth rpm development even in the case of low revs
at large throttle openings (eg hill climbing). Plus environment
friendly performance clears the latest emissions standards.
- New semi-double cradle frame is designed to optimise lateral and torsional rigidity, and contribute mass centralisation.
- New
front suspension features improved damping and rigidity balance for
better comfort and feel. Lightweight aluminium under-bracket and meter
assembly significantly lighten front end to improve handling.
- Plush
early and mid-range monocross suspension travel is complemented by a
gradually stronger, more resistant cushioning at fuller compression for
a comfortable ride and lighter, more agile machine.
- A new
rear disc and an improved front disc brake provide excellent stopping
power, feel and modulation… perfect for commuting or technical off-road
riding.
- Tight turning angle and short wheelbase provides a
small turning radius of 1.9 metres. Outstanding manoeuvrability for the
bush or the car park.
